Immerse yourself in New Brunswick’s historic Acadian culture. During this full day visit to the Acadian Village in Caraquet, you will experience authentic village life for the Acadian families who returned to the province following “Le Grand Dérangement,” which displaced French settlers from 1755-1764.
Wander through authentically reconstructed dwellings dating from 1770 to mid-twentieth century, and settings brought to life through costumed interpreters sharing stories and performing the chores of the era. Visit the railway station, general store, sawmill and many other historical buildings. A special bonus for this tour is the Acadian Village auction and craft show. (www.villagehistoriqueacadien.com).
