August 10 & 11
CMA Ceremonies, PEI
For the first time, Prince Edward Island will host the ‘Congres Mondial Acadian’. The opening date will be August 10th, in Abram-Village. This day will look like a folk festival. In the evening, a big show, on the site of the Acadian Festival, will feature Acadian artists such as ‘Barachois’, Les Hay Babies, Arthur Comeau and the Savoy family to name a few. We will be there for the official opening and for the show.
The regions of Tignish and Wellington areas will host the community programming of the second day of the CMA 2019. Tignish is a fishing village located in north west of Prince Edward Island. The activities will include a religious ceremony, a reconstitution of the 1799 arrival of eight Acadian families in the area. Also, a multiple of family activities will take place throughout the day. The second day of the Congrès will wrap up in Tignish with a classic Acadian kitchen party.
$270.00 per person includes admission, accommodations and breakfast.
